고호와 테오
1890년 7월 27일
오베르성당 뒤쪽에 있는 밀밭에서 고호는 스스로 가슴에 총을 쏘았는데
다행히도(?) 탄환이 심장을 비껴나가 그는 가슴을 움켜쥔채
그의 다락방으로 돌아와 몸을 누인다.
피를 흘리고 누워있는 그를 여인숙의 라부가 발견하였고
닥터 가셰가 급히 달려온다.
이튿날,파리에 있던 테오가 가셰의 편지를 받고 오베르로 왔는데
그날 밤 고호는 의식을 잃었고
7월 29일 새벽 1시30분.. 테오의 품에 안긴 채,
-이 모든것이 끝났으면 좋겠다- 라는 말을 남기고
서른일곱, 고통스러웠던 그의 삶을 마감합니다.
고호가 죽은지 6개월 후,
형의 죽음 이후 갑자기 건강이 악화된 테오가
서른셋의 나이로 숨을 거둔다..

겨울이 지독하게 추우면
여름이 오든 말든 상관하고 싶지 않을 때가 있다
부정적인 것이 긍정적인 것을 압도하는 것이다
그러나 우리가 받아들이든 받아들이지 않든
냉혹한 날씨는 결국 끝나게 되어 있고
화창한 아침이 찾아오면 바람이 바뀌면서 해빙기가 올 것이다
그래서 늘 변하게 마련인 우리 마음과 날씨를 생각해 볼 때
상황이 좋아질 수도 있다는 희망을 품게 된다
